Today’s Verse for 01/23/2013

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Thought

While other preachers in Paul’s day were parading around their credentials, Paul refused to get into a bragging contest to prove he was the most impressive of Jesus’ disciples. Even though he had the religious education and Jewish pedigree to silence his rivals, he preferred to acknowledge the areas of his weakness where God had triumphed over his own limitations. Let’s be careful today about examining and determining the ministry-worth of someone based on his or her resume. Instead, let’s look for people in whom God’s grace has triumphed.

Prayer

Almighty and loving Father, thank you for sustaining and enabling me to serve you in ways I would never have dreamed of doing. Please help me serve you faithfully as I depend upon your grace. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

In Memory Of Momma!

In Memory Of Momma!

1-22-13

It has been a very cold day . All day I have been thingking of momma. God laid Psalm 23 on my heart. I got my Bible and started to read it out loud.

Verse 6 hit my thoughts. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever..

I believe momma’s last 2 years were the best times we had, accept memories as a child when she would hold me on her lap while I would take a nap. I believe goodness and love followed momma all the days of her life. She was a wonderful Lady. I miss her so much.

And now she dwells in the house of the Lord forever. It’s so hard for the living to deal with death. Momma wasn’t afraid to die. She said to me she will meet me in heaven one day.. She prayed with me, and she listened. She held, she comforted me. I miss you momma.

Psalm 25 verse 1 to you O Lord I lift up my soul.; Verse 2 in you I trust O Lord my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. God, help me to Praise and have hope, for your love is everlasting.

One day we will dance together again.
Dedicated to my mother Zelma Hogston
